The hardest qualifier ever in Champery

As it was to be expected, it was a whole new story on the Champery downhill track today. Pouring rain made it extremely hard to stay on the bike, and once a rider was off the bike, it was even harder to get back on it.

Both of the SCOTT11 girls had serious trouble trying to make it to the finish in the qualifier. Floriane Pugin crashed into a safety net and could hardly get out of it to continue her run. Emilie Siegenthaler crashed several times and was almost not able to lift her bike back up, as there were several kilograms of mud sticking on it.
Floriane Pugin qualified in 9th and Emilie Siegenthaler just made it into the finals in 20th position. It was a tough comeback for Emilie after her back injury.

Nick Beer and Fabien Pedemanaud played it safe making sure they stayed on the bike and qualified for tomorrows finals. Fabien placed 12th and Nick 17th.

Junior Freddy Hunziker crashed twice and just missed qualifying on the 93rd place.
